When it gets it right (when it's written by Steven Moffat), it's excellent. RTD's offerings have been less impressive. But it's usually worth watching.

I'm not really a fan of UK television when it comes drama, sci-fi, action, pales in comparison to the US and A, but I do enjoy Doctor Who. So Davies has to be applauded for that.

It's much better the post watershed Torchwood, which goes crude for no good reason oh so often, that had so much potential, but also suffers in line with the earlier post, but this time by having stuff happen in Cardiff all the time. At least Joss Whedon with Buffy came up with a nice gimmick to counteract this by placing the Hellmouth in Sunnydale.

And talking of Joss Whedon, watching Doctor Who and Torchwood just makes me regretful the rumoured BBC financed Giles series "The Watcher" never got off the ground. Whedon in the UK would have been awesome.

I enjoyed the episode, and thought Tate would be better than Billie Piper.
Great one-liners, but Tennant isn't a patch on Ecclestone IMO

The West London of my youth is now on dvd
