"I'll admit his movies havent been consistent but Do The Right Thing, Jungle Fever, Mo Better Blues, Malcolm X and Clockers stills stands as some of my favourite movies by him and I will always give him credit for having his own style and conveying a mood unique to his style without having to resort to overt commercialism."

What about "Summer of Sam?" What about the brilliant, brilliant "25th Hour?" I suggest you revise your thesis on the Godlike Spike Lee pretty damn sharpish young man. Actually "25th Hour" is pretty much my favourite film, the performances (From a world class cast) are incredible.

James Brown is quite simply one of the most influential musicians in history and anyone who doesn't appreciate this has absolutely zero knowledge of popular music. An artist of immense talent.

"a great story with that chap from Fight Club being excellent as ever."

The superb Edward Norton. His "Mirror Scene" in 25th Hour tops even, in my opinion, his awesome dinner table scene in the brilliant "American History X."

It's so good let's enjoy a little snippet right now, over to you Monty;

"Fuck Osama Bin Laden, Alqueda, and backward-ass, cave-dwelling, fundamentalist assholes everywhere. On the names of innocent thousands murdered, I pray you spend the rest of eternity with your seventy-two whores roasting in a jet-fueled fire in hell. You towel headed camel jockeys can kiss my royal, Irish ass!"

That right there is a typical Spike Lee trait in his movies. He usually has a moment to illustrate a point of what the problem is with his characters from way back in Do The Right Thing

"Fuck you you titsoon, spade, moolinyar (What the hell is that?) take you piece of pizza and go the fuck back to Africa!"

I would never accuse Spike of being racist. I think he has fun ripping the shit out of everyone. !laugh!

25th Hour was awesome. I think I watched it once, then watched again the very next day. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

"He Got Game" was also excellent.

It's actually Mulignon, it's Italian for Eggplant, an Aubergine. Italian Americans use it as a racial slur, refering to the dark skin of the aubergine and the dark skin of an african-american.

Never heard a white person or any other person use that word. They DO call us "nigger" though.

You should have if you've seen any Spike Lee , Quentin Tarantino flicks. I think Dennis Hoppers character in refers to Christopher Walkens sicilian blood as 'part egg plant' in True Romance but I'm sure it isnt used as widely in general.
