Embedded Video help...

Post by Sam Slater »

Seems an old problem but.....

Is there anyway of getting Firefox to display embedded .avi files? I've found a way around this by just configuring quicktime to display the file instead, but if I do that, the browser ignores the 'autostart=false' attribute.

Does it look like if I want to embed video I'll have to convert my video to .wmv files or something, for Firefox users?

Cheers.

I'll mail you an SDK that makes this nice and easy, probably in the morning now.

Here's a very simple way of doing it with the divx web player (divx is simply an avi by another name):

The video is 320x192, 20 pixels where added to both height tags to account for the controls.

Should work with an avi file, plus if you don't have the player it will prompt you to go and get it.

They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?
