Hey! We used to be that way! Now every farm land is being sold off to real estate developers to build industrial complexes, whole new neighborhoods or houses and townhomes. So much for freedom! We are dependent on BUYING everything and with jobs being shipped overseas or to Mexico every family NEEDS to start growing our own food.

Graham,
You get a government grant here to install them. They supply twelve volt DC and you can run all your lights on them. There are also free standing lights which charge themselves during the day and light up at night. I have seen solar panels powering public lights here.

Arnold,
Believe it, or not, ironically I don't have a working camcorder or camera at the moment but I am getting a new one in March for my next shoot and will post some pix then.

Don't even mention that and eating cheap quality food ain't no better. I'd love to see those pics too. It'll be proof positive that a person with will power to buck the powers that be and gumption to do for him or herself without much help if at all, from these so-called gov'ments. !thumbsup! !bow!

Re: self sufficiency
CJ,
I will buy a High Definition camcorder soon and post a few pics. My old one broke and it is the second time and unreliable now. I can get a professional rig for just over a $1500. I am just working out whether it is cheaper here or in England.
It rained like hell yesterday and I could here the water pouring into the well under my house. If anyone is getting a water meter installed I would recommend catching your rain water from the gutters into a tank. if you are scared to drink have it tested and you will find that it has hardly any pollution unlike the tap water in London for example.

Re: self sufficiency
I believe you. A year or two ago we had news flash about an idea to save and use rain water to wash your car, water your lawn etc. What you would do is let it run from the gutter to a big plastic barrel and when it fills up, use it to your hearts content. That idea came from a particular summer where we didn't get a lot of rain and it was an idea to conserve water.

CJ,
Run it to a big tank in your attic, if you have one, and try drinking it! Of course have it tested first. In the UK I have heard that the authorities have started installing water meters and that's why I suggested the idea. Water is probably still free and drinkable in America?
