"since when did doing less work for equal pay count as 'equality'?"
Since some earnestly nutty, intellectually elitist, middleclass people invented the concept of 'political correctness'. Except that it's only 'correct' if you're middleclass and have an affected leftist stance. To ordinary folks (the majority in Britain) it's total bollocks.
I say, t?fuck with PC! I say those who espouse it are guilty of crimes against rationality and reason. They are a cancer at the very heart of our society. They are enemies of the people!

Re: Wimbledon prize money 'equality'
Actually, if the ladies really wanted 'equality', theyd press for doing away w/ gender-based classifications entirely; but of course they dont truly want equality, just a bigger slice of the pie.
While on the subject of tennis--has anyone ever been so good, & dominated a sport so much, w/ as little recognition as Roger Federer??

Re: Wimbledon prize money 'equality'
It always used to be that women drew less of a crowd in than men, this isn't the case anymore, so the pay is no equal - no big conspiracy
Re: Wimbledon prize money 'equality'
If Mauresmo, for example, wants the same prize money as Federer, then she should have to beat Federer to obtain it. That would be equality.
But no; as always, if women are no good at something, then they go off and do it amongst themselves, thus saving face - and getting well-paid for something that they aren't much good at into the bargain.

Indeed - and earning nothing as they wouldn't win a game.
