General concensus towards Americans In UK?

Yep! !laugh! They elected him the second time because they figured he should continue on with the war instead of letting somebody else finish. So to bring this subject back around, I guess americans should have no problems visiting the UK or as far as I know they're welcome in quite a few other places as well.

Right, honest? Any threat an American stands in the UK is from Muslims, especially the crazies. The native Brits are okay about Americans, just so long as they don't shout their mouths off like that creepo on ITN, saying things like we "sucked our thumbs during WWII". Then they's stand a good chance of bleeding from a number of orifices and being given a guided tour of Accident and Emergency! But other than that we native Brits (as you must know) are pretty much okay with Yanks. However, being from the West Country, I have to grit my teeth whenever an American thinks I'm Scottish just 'cause I don't sound like Hugh Grant!

The ones in the UK who stand the most chance of being set upon by native Brits at the moment are the aforementioned Muslims, especially the ones who go around shouting hatred towards us!

I live in a "Muslim ghetto". A good American friend of mine (from Boston) lives just down the road. She likes the local Moroccan cafe, very friendly place.

Yeah, from you, but there are loads here who hate Americans more than they do us. Look, I'm not trying to start anything here, only that there are loads of Muslims in the UK who consider the US "The Great Satan" and who burn the Stars & Stripes along with the Union Jack. Wonder what they'd think of an American paying their neighbourhoods a visit?

London's full of both Muslims and Americans. I haven't heard of any problems. Most Muslims are smart enough to know the difference between Bush and an American tourist. Have you ever heard of British Muslims attacking an American? I haven't.

I think America's foreign policy is downright evil - doesn't mean I want to attack American tourists though.

But then, you're not a crazy. Look, normal human Muslims look exactly the same as the crazy maniacs on the surface. The crazies don't go around with the fact printed to their foreheads, do they? I just think an American venturing into a Muslim neighbourhood would be like a white person entering Harlem. I personally wouldn't go there if I were American, 'cause you never quite know who might take particular "offence" to you being there.

Harlem is getting so gentrified these days I doubt if you would have any trouble. I certainly didn't a few years back when I walked around above 110th street.
