I hope it has nothing to do with the Sky/Virgin Media saga
Re: 960 - Babestar
I understand from another forum that as of last night Babestar has gone for good. This is due to ongoing disputes with Ofcom and presumably more impending fines.
However, this is unconfirmed by any official source as yet. I'll be keeping an eye out for further info.

960 is showing a test card as of now. It went blue screen at midnight last night. Also SKY 913 has gone off the EPG. Are the phone in channels doomed?
Re: 960 - Babestar
The market for free to air call in stations seems to be shrinking. I think there always were too many copycat stations anyway.
The model Karina Currie posted elsewhere that the channel on 913 (XXX4U) closed as of last night permanently. She worked on the channel - it was owned by the same company (Cellcast) that owns Sex Station (911) and the Babestation/Babecast channels (906, 908, 910).
Sex Station will remain, as will the Babestation/Babecast channels.
Babestar is off the air for a second night so it certainly looks as if they've gone.

Bad news I am afraid.
Babestar went off air, officially, at midnight last night.
Had this confirmed by the wonderful Sammie who appeared on there til the last.
She hopes to work on another channel soon.
To the other channels out there;
Sign this girl up, she is special.

The only phone in channels that are doomed are ones who think they can take on Ofcom and win.
They can't.
The ones that stay within the many many many rules will be fine

I agree Neil. I know you have an inside track to some of these channels so I wondered if you knew the specific reason why Babestar has gone for good this time?
I know they received a 175k fine last November but that was for the parent company. Their licence was also revoked. It resulted in Babestar going off the air and being replaced by G-Spot TV. Then G-Spot went and Babestar came back last December, but known as Babestar +.
All very confusing! I found it weird that a company whose licence had been revoked could manage to get back on the air so quickly.
Since December the company has been breaking Ofcom's rules on a nightly basis. They seemed to be a bunch of cowboys really, childishly thinking they could get away with it.
Perhaps the regular pussy flashing and porn style language by the models resulted in lots of calls, but if the corollary of that is a massive fine and removal from the airwaves it seems to be a rather daft business plan!
So what was the reason for the final end? Non payment of the 175k and/or the flagrant rule breaking?
