I just got activated and am now off to Halfords to buy a roll-cage, six-point safety harness and SIPS/air bags.
Prior to this I was with Demon and was lucky to get 5Mbps out of them. As I type this I'm getting warp speeds. Not fully settled and sync'd but 15mpbs should be about what I get (which is 1mb less than I was told but I have yet to play with DMT, RWIN and TCP).
Communication with be* - nothing short of excellent.
Community - excellent and the Head of Member Services is on daily to help resolve problems and be critisized.
Set-up - idiot proof.
Would I reccomend be*? Yes.
10 days from ordering to surfing.

Re: Be* Broadband
My exchange says it will be ready in March -dunno what date- and I'm still unsure as it means exchanging TV, phone number and e-mail addresses as well.
Please keep those 'speed' statements to yourself you damn show off!

Re: Be* Broadband
Connection is free during March so you might get lucky if BT Wholeslae pull their finger out, but if you want an all in package Virgin Media ia launching a 20Mb service in the summer and a 50Mb service is planned but no date yet.
And I won't mention that I am leaving 'The Stig' in my wake !grin!

Hey jacques you must live pretty near your exchange. Just checked yo see if i could get Be, its on my exchange but i live to far away. Damm.
Re: Be* Broadband
I live pretty close but that in reality doesn't mean anything, BT could have me on a 4Km pipe and I could live next door!!!
The problem with linespeed is that is is not a slow decline the further away you get, it gets to a point and then drops like a stone. If you are before the drop point you are laughing.

Re: Be* Broadband
Gads, you Brits & Euros don't know how good you've got it! I'm paying 36 USD/mo. for Clearwire ISP, which offers 'up to 1.5Mbs'!! Havent achieved said speed yet.... Bell South DSL would be about the same.....Cable would get me up to around 5Mbs but would cost about $60....
The big telecoms here keep prices high & service poor. Biggest hope is Verizon fiber optic, which will be available here...some day--maybe.

Re: Be* Broadband
This is a 24Mb ADSL2+ line and I'm losing 9Mb on it and I'm happy!!! Works out at about 50 USD/month.
As you say yes we have it lucky.
You can tweak a bit more out of your line by upping MTU to 1500.
Have a go with this tool SG TCP Optimizer
Choose your maximum Connection Speed from the slider bar (the maximum available bandwidth, in kilobits per second)
Choose your Network Interface, or check to Modify All Network Adapters
Pick "Optimal settings" from the radio-buttons near the bottom of the program
Click on the "Apply changes" button and reboot
