If she was fitting and had grabbed hold of the coppers knackers, then she isn't letting go - hence the punches to the arm. Now in that circumstance with a violent person restisting arrest, how exactly do you tell a fit from a non-comliant person?

My mates who attended football matches in the early 80s were often baton-charged by mounted police for sport. As we saw recently, the French and Italian police still like to play this game with English fans. The word "hooligan" was like the word "chav" today - it gave the police free rein to have a bit of fun.

The end of hooliganism is credited to the rise of rave culture and specifically ecstacy in the late-80s. Working class kids stopped drinking and fighting, and took E and danced instead. You really believe all the hooligans gave up and went home because the police were so good at doing their job?
