Of course, of course, not everyone fits exactly into a particular group. We know that. But most people do fit into distinct social groups that have distinct attitudes and views. You can have a very good idea which social group someone fits into within about two minutes of taking to him or her. Any rational person would accept this view. Of course I know there are exceptions.
I believe I?m as rational and objective as anyone can be. I regularly have periods of self-analysis when I ask myself why do I think that? Why do I feel that? Is it because the guy on TV put the idea into my head? Or, the guy writing the newspaper column? Or my mates dahn the pub? Or, is it because I have arrived at that conclusion through observation and cold progressive logic ? a la ?Mr Spock?
When I said, ?Class is an issue? I was taking about porn in a wider sense, not just about the guys down at the pub.
I certainly don?t borrow other people?s opinions (I?m far to opinionated for that!) although I am always fascinated to hear them and wonder how they arrived at them.
I persist in my view that class is an issue in porn for the reasons I have outlined earlier. Oh, and if you?re slightly miffed because you?re middleclass, I?m not having a go at you personally. By visiting this forum you show that you probably don?t hold with all that politically correct nonsense anyway ? which makes you OK in my book, whatever class you are.

Re: Why do girls do it???
I am off to bed too.
Dustbin man, are no longer dustbin men, they have now a fancy title. To be honest, I would say that a dustbin man now is a middle class job, daft as it seems, or more so, being a dustbin man now means being well paid (it was last time I heard) with a long waiting list. Most own property, cars and so on. The job may not be in the same leage as a doctor, but most chaps on the bins (well femals as well now) do have middle class lives.
You say you are working class? If you own your house, this is a definition of being middle class.
The working class you could say only came about with the indusrial reverlution, before then most people were working on farms and so on, living in the countryside and so on.
The working class came as people moved into cities to work in factories, and at the same time the middle class developed who owned the factories.
Idustry creared the classes.
We no longer live in an indusrial age, we now are in the technological age. PC's run most things. Even the dustbin men are run by pc's, which monitor them. These days most peolew have to have bank accounts when they work, which is another definition of middle class.
I come from a very working class background, but even the elderly, now live a middle class life.
If I am correct, a person is middle class if they are/have:
- a degree
- property
I would say to you, look at the uk today, then think what it was like 20 or so years ago.
20 years ago no one in my street had more than one tv, it was though you were posh if you had two. We used to go to blackpool all the time for holidays. People would not even eat pasta. Pitza was new and exciting. A poodle was posh. People had no rights at work. Work was harsh. Pubs were pubs, and were not family based. At the time people thought in this way.
Today people have diffent expectations. No child says he plans to go down the mins, most want technical jobs. People earn more and own more. Look at houses, people are buying bigger all the time.
Look at the jobs, even dustmin men have a different job than they did 20 years ago. I bet these days, there are qualifications in doing the job, no doubt a degree. The chaps have working rights. I bet that they are now trained in how to lift and tons more health and safrty things. I bet they have to report to a pc. Wages done by pc. I bet some trucks have a bunch of electronic toys on them. Even women are now dustbin men. I bet most own there homes. Most could become managers, they may even all be labled managers as some businesses do. I bet that the dustbin men have regular meetings with managers. This is what I am saying all jobs are middle class and there is very little diffence between a dusbin man and say an office worker. Lets face it, I could not say who earns more, or has better working conditions, more rights, more say, between an office worker and a dustbin man.
You could say that technology has now made life a pain in the ass, as if you worked in the 70's, once you finished woork you came home, now your boss can phone you on a mobile, email you and so on.
OK off to bed now.
Been nice to chat.
But look around, see if you can find a working class person. You could say that there is a new class, some sort of class for those who have no job, no cash, and living in poverty. There are areas of the uk, where this is so, and expectations are low, unemployment is high. This I would say is a new class and unless somthing is done there will be a great divide with those living in expesvive houses and those who have nothing.
I would also say that the upper class have been around for a long time, and that you cannot move into it. The upper class is not a reflect on a persons money. You can be poor own nothing and still be upper class. You could be a billionaire but you are still only middle class.
Now I must go to bed.
Night.

Re: Why do girls do it???
Looks like I missed an interesting discussion due to my few days off.
I knew a girl when I was 18 (she was twenty) who used to get turned on by going and collecting her holiday photos. She used to say "that bloke in Boots has seen my tits when he was developing my photos". Its called exhibitionism and it does turn a lot of girls on to think that they have the power to arouse a man whilst remaining "safe" and distant. Another example is a female TV presenter who loves to uncross her legs and give the veiwers a flash.
I was sorry to see Dr No once again rant on about middle class Guardian readers. He has a point but I would think that Daily Mail readers are a far greater threat to sexual liberty. I think all this left wing middle class femenism muesli eating crap was left behind in 1992.

Re: Here's an interesting conundrum
I have been watching Big Brother. The girls there have been happy to parade in their bikinis, sunbathing, swimming etc. The other night Jade was acting all shy and embarassed when the guys would see her in her bra.
Why are girls OK about guys seeing them in a bikini top but get embarrassed snd shy when they are wearing a bra top - especially when the bra may show less flesh than a bikini top?

This is an interesting discussion. Its still a shame no women have contributed, as they can probably explain better than any of us men.
