Shane Meadows "This is England"

Post by Arnold Layne »

After the stormingly brilliant Dead mans shoes comes this,

it's possibly even better with a great soundtrack

Just don't go asking the barber for a number 1 all over on Saturday

If you like that Jacques you'll love this, apparently based on the director Meadows childhood, why this guy isn't huge league already is beyond me. anyone see 24/7 made in black & white about a boys boxing club? I used to box as a youngster and it was spot on, those Sunday mornings in the winter running circuits, puts hair's on your chest, but I never got any just bad gums through those fucking mouth guards!

A lot of Trojan stuff I liked the sound of back then but never knew who the fuck it was lol! It's spot on if you grew up in the 80's, a really great film.

all shane meadows films are worth seeing

24/7 - amatuerish with great performances from mostly unknowns apart from bob "its good to talk" hoskins giving perhaps the performance of his career

a room for romeo brass - a disturbing yet hilarious feature film debut for paddy consintine (dead mans shoes geezer) well worth a watch

dead mans shoes - we all know this one, those who don't, get on it you won't regret it

once upon a time in the north - great actors in this, not one of his best films tho imo
