It seems that membership of the EU does not prevent governments from denying their citizens their rights under the ECHR. The get out clause is used where morality is concerned. However I should imagine that an appeal to the Commission would be successful.

It seems The catholic church and indeed all christian organisations including the the extreme right has launched an international crusade against sexual freedom and its imagery pornography.
