Hey y'all!!
Right ok I know im being a complete Benny here so please be gentle. Buying a brand new printer for the first time ever this week. Now all the printers I have had before I have begged, borrowed and stole so they have all ways had ink with them. Now the thing is when pricing up a new printer in the Argos book, they show the price of the printer and then underneath it shows the price of the ink. So what im getting at is....do new printers come with ink or do I have to buy a whole set of cartrides then and there?
And my next question is....what printers do you folks recomend? It will be mainly used for printing photos but will also be used for regular printing. Looking at around the ?75 mark (Told you I was on a budget)
Thankyou in advance!!
BennyBoy !doh!

Most printers come with the ink already.
You should be able to get a fairly decent Epson with ?75. Go for Epson since you can get cheap ink cartridges easily.

Are you actually speaking english, or are you just making up words as you go along? I do that too...

Epson Stylus Photo R220 ?54 - build quality not brilliant, it's a bit slow but the quality it produces on photos is very high quality.
Canon Pixma iP4200 ?60 - better build quality, cheap to run but not as good print quality as the Epson (a little too much contrast).
They come with ink too.

My reading says in general, for inkjets, esp for photos, Canon is the best choice. But the guy at Staples told me they only come w/ 1/2 an ink supply, & they seem to use ink quickly & be a bit pricey to re-ink.

Thankyou all
Cheers
Taken every thing on board you lot have said, and due to a complete lack of Epson stockists I have opted for a Cannon. This one I think....
Certainly looks the part!!
Thankyou all once again

I've had the Canon IP4300 for a couple of months now, brilliant cheap photo printer...seems pretty good on ink consumption too! !happy!

I've just replaced my first printer: Epson Stylus Color 670 bought in 1990
with another Epson: StylusCX3900. The new one has scanner too and I paid less NZ$ for it than GBP for the first one.
The new one comes with trial ink cartridges not full ones though.
Don't know if this tip will work with other printers but I always remove and put back the cartridge when I get the empty message, theres always ink left in the "empty" one.
