You all have some good post here about the Pope. Some of us here in the U.S. think the same way about him being the anti christ. You know, strangely we thought the same thing about Ronald Reagan when he became president.

What sickens me is Priests of all denomonations take a vow of poverty yet The Pope, Bishop of Canterbury etc dress in clothes worth literally thousands. The gold braiding and ultra plush cloth must be specially made. Apart from barmy dictators and Royalty nobody else wears the stuff, apart from err poor old Bishops and Popes..........

Not everyone in Italy is a staunch catholic and the communist party is quite strong. I see little evidence of mass support for the Pope.
