Milan v Liverpool final
Re: Milan v Liverpool final
There will be one winner here and thats Milan. Milan took the foot off the pedal back in 2005. Thats not taking anything away from liverpool, but Milan will not make the same Mistake again. I predict a 2-0 Milan Victory with Kaka scoring both goals.

Re: Milan v Liverpool final
Liverpool have a much better chance than some of you think.
Milan are not as good as they were two years ago. No Crespo or Shevchenko. They're still a good side but not quite as good but Liverpool are definitely a better side than two years ago.
Add to the fact that Liverpool won't be as generous to Milan (tactically) as Ferguson was. He got his tactics in the San Siro totally wrong. Too high a tempo, too many players too far forward and too often and they got picked off. Benitez will have Liverpool sit deeper than Utd and that won't help Milan in the slightest.
Two years ago I thought Liverpool would lose comfortably. This time around I believe it is an even money game and could go either way.

Re: Milan v Liverpool final
Ok first off, im not a bitter manu fan. For fuck sake we just won the league. Yes Ferguson got it wrong in Milan. Why the fuck he played Vidic i dont know. But i firmly believe that if we would have had a fit Ferdinand and Vidic playing at there peak Milan would not of won. TaKe nothing away from Milan they are a very good team, in the striker Alberto Gilardino he is a top goalscorer. The you add Kaka into the mix along with perlo, gattuso etc. Milan will not find this easy but i have always said Class is pernament, and Milan will prove that by defeating Liverpool 2-0.
Re: Milan v Liverpool final
I never said you were a bitter Man U fan????
Whether Man Utd would have won in Milan with Ferguson and Vidic is something we'll never know but a bit of protection from the midfield wouldn't have gone a miss no matter what defence Fergie had out.
Credit to Fergie in one respect in that he has the principle of playing attacking football home or away but it is a little easier to go to Watford and play that way than it is at the San Siro. Sticking to your principles though is all well and good but for me to play as open as he did in Milan was as near to committing football suicide as you can get. It probably explains their poor away record in Europe in general. I'm not saying that they should play defensively. I'm saying it is about balance and I think Fergie struggles to get the balance right away in Europe.
Fergie is a top top manager and nobody can say any different but if he does have a weakness then it would be in the tactical department.
One thing I will disagree with you about is Gillardino. He is NOT a top goal scorer. A reasonable one? Maybe. But a top one? Definitely not.
As I said before I believe the final can go either way.

Re: Milan v Liverpool final
i am a Man Utd fan and agree with you eduardo, the midfield played too far up the pitch and exposed the back four to Kaka's pace and skill. can't understand why Kaka wasn't marked more closely. to have any chance of winning in Europe they need a top class defensive midfield player, such as Hargreaves and possibly another top class striker to compliment Rooney, Owen perhaps?

Re: Milan v Liverpool final
Many people are even suggesting Milan shouldn't even be in the champs League due too the match fixing off last season. So you want these cheats too win it?
Re: Milan v Liverpool final
Your right, the Cheating Italians shouldnt even be in the Competition. But thats Corruption for you, English teams have been pissed on for so long its unreal. Milan clearly broke the rules regarding Matchfixing. But they are still allowed in the Champions League, a fuckin joke. But its done now. Id rather see Milan win the Champions league than Liverpool. Lets get it right they hate us and we hate them.
