Especially as he was licking Fergie's balls recently about how he'd play his strongest team, unlike Rafa blah blah blah.

Still think West Ham should have gone though. And they still might.

man u had one of those days today if they were still there now i dont think they would of scored. Also it was a bit of coincedence 30 years ago was the only time west ham took 6 points off man u. They have done it again today by the same circumstances, we never let them beat us but you still get the feeling it was a bit of an old pals act (fergie and curbishley) after all he said all week we would put out a strong side and to be honest i thought the side looked ok but it wasnt strong
hen a team is relagated it's never down to the last day of the season. It means they haven't performed over the whole season otherwise they wouldn't be liable to go down.
Agreed. Sheff Utd accumulated 38 points this season and that was nothing to do with West Ham, however.....

Without Tevez over the past 10 games, would 38 points have been enough for Sheff Utd to stay up? I think it would. The Premier League bottled it big time. Middlesbrough got deducted 3 points for not playing a game on the day they should have, and only this season Leeds got deducted 10 points for basically being skint.

West Ham sign ineligible players and blatantly lie to the Premier League for over 6 months, and get nothing. I heard on TV today that because of the new TV deal this year, that promotion to the Premiership is worth 50 million pounds. West Ham must have been laughing their bollocks off at paying 5 million to stay up.

One of the reporters on Jimmy Hill's Sunday programme -who's a hammer- said that West Ham gave the impression that if they'd been docked points that they were going to appeal, thus dragging the relegation battle all through the summer. The EPL wanted things sorted so there'd be no delay at the start of next season, so no points deduction was used.

I hope Watford, Charlton, Wigan, Sheff Utd take things further, as that's what West Ham was threatening anyway.

It would have been a different story if Man Utd had needed a win today for the title, only to see Tevez deny them. We may have seen the likes of Man Utd taking the EPL to court.

At least teams in danger in the future can just play whoever they want, to get them out of a hole, without bothering with the official paperwork. They'll not be deducted points so it's worth the risk financially. Think about it. Wigan or Sheff Utd could have asked Arsenal -who have nothing to play for- to lend them players for 1 match, knowing they'd only have been fined. What a scenario.

Well done EPL, you've just sent the message that cheating and lying is ok.

I think what Ace is trying and doing fairly well to say is that the game meant nothing to Man. Utd, but if it had let's face it West Ham winning 1-0 at old Trafford would be the biggest shock of the season as their defence aint exactly their strong suit.
I really don't see how any Man. Utd. "Fans" can call Jose Mourinho "arrogant" and "a bad loser" ... hmmm pot, kettle, black springs to mind.

Sure, West Ham may have been naughty in their dealings with Mascherano and Tevez.............

...... but football is the winner when the Hammers stay up in the place of Sheffield United. Having the Premiership retain a large-ish London club with a proud history, a tradition of attacking football can only be good and an atmospheric stadium housing voiciferous, chanting fans adds to their appeal.

Wigan, this ropey season aside, have been going well, with a decent standard of football and player.

With Sheff Utd, you had a team full of journeymen pros, little flair to speak of, and an absolute cock of a manager. A team with 'CHAMPIONSHIP' stamped all over it's very existence has no place at the top level. Watford likewise- it is sad to lose Charlton, but if they can keep the squad together, they'll be back; sure they should ditch Longball Pardew, but he is a good Championship manager. If they get to the Prem again, invigorate the squad and get rid of Pardew.

Man United thorughly deserved the title, a victory and triumph for football over the Infinite Chequebook that is Abramovich and his Capitalist Footballing notions. Fergie and Jose may be arrogant, and bitter losers- hallmarks of the winners psyche- but, where Fergie is merely arrogant, Mourinho is.................

....... DELUSIONAL.

Key difference.

Great season, best for some time. Now, Liverpool- Milan.

Bring it on.

Sorry Fudge but I disagree with you there. No team has a right of Premiership status. They were promoted, and deserved to be in the Premiership, regardless of their style. West Ham cheated & lied.........and admitted it too.

Being a Wednesday fan, I've not much time for the pigs, but they've gone into every match with honesty & fought for every point. Kinda sickening then that they go down -in part- due to a team who brought in 2 World Cup stars -who were owned by another company- who then lied to the Premier League -not just once, but consistently- and in which one of these stars has single handedly kept them up.

I mean, come one everyone........who on this board didn't think something was amiss when they heard 2 World Cup stars from Argentina were whipped up by West Ham? They were coveted by Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man Utd, Liverpool, Inter & Milan. Why hadn't these clubs got a look in? Why were these two stars turning their back on Champions League football, competing against the other world stars? Turning down playing in the Nou Camp in front of 100,000 people, to turn out in the pissing rain in East London to 26,000 cockneys singing 'I'm forever blowing fucking bubbles'? !laugh! Maybe because these top clubs saw something dodgy? Ferguson actually came out and said they were offered the 2 Argies, but they didn't like the look of 'the paperwork'.

After the scandal of Italian football last year, Italy went and won the World Cup, and a team who shouldn't be playing in the Champions League this year -Milan- are now in the final. Now we have the West Ham scandal, and these players have contributed significantly to West Ham's points accumulation, over the course of the season.

The game needs this corrupt shit stamped out, but if you're an influential club -within the FA & media- then all's well. Do we all really think that Sheff Utd & Wigan would have gotten away with what West Ham have, under the same circumstances?

Please.......

Yeah and you forgot one thing Sam: the Italian clubs who were caught up in the Italian scandal were all docked points once caught, even relegated I believe. Whereas West Ham get a fine which pisses in the faces of the other relegation candidates who have been hit in the pocket for at least ?50 million (Sheffield United).
Bottom line is West Ham and Club Officials knowingly broke rules and lied about it, were eventually caught but still manage to play Tevez who then keeps them up as you say single handedly ... but the question still remains who owns him??

Probably won't be an independent enquiry as it will show up the shortcomings of the FA and Premier League mobsters.
