I had hoped to operate a rental policy, but as mentioned in my last post I don't think it is possible.

The exchange policy would be just the same as rental, in a way, depending on your prices.

RE your earlier point about shops selling porn without a licence, I know a guy that does this. He takes largely unsellable stock off a mate who does have a licence, for around ?3 a disc, and knocks it out at a tenner a go.

Hi Ned, yes I know it happens throughout, but they are being caught up with one at a time, although it does take a while.

Just spoke with a lovely shop owner up north and spoke about their pricing, they operate an exchange but for alot less money and they have increased their customers, bought more people into the shop, customers are able to afford to buy 4 more dvds than normal and more films are being bought from the distributors, so am now doing lots of market research.

Speaking as a punter, if you could do DVDs at a tenner, fiver exchange that would be my ideal price point. But then again, as I said elsewhere on the forums, since the guy I know introduced exchanges I haven't done one. I preferred to keep the films!

We do those deals but are not bullied into it. It makes sense the more they take on the cheaper it would be to them. If shops want to run a rental scheme then this offer should be reviewed and altered accordingly.

Personally I wouldnt do business with anyone with a bullying attitude.

Prefer to buy dvds online as there is more selection and I can search for particular stars. Plus its cheaper than a shop as the shops unfortunately have to pay a ridiculously over the top license fee. I think with the postal service being open to competition now, I would imagine certain companies might make a case with the law to allow adult material through the post eventually. Or am I being optimistic?
