In quite a few states, the Age of Consent is 16. But just because you can DO it, you can't FILM it & sell it. Strikes me as a bit odd too. The age 18 thing is strictly a matter of federal law; exactly whence their jurisdiction on the subject, I'm not sure (the Interstate Commerce Clause I suppose). But the Congress has been sticking their nose into a lot of things not in their purview by the Constitution of recent years. I am beginning to wonder why we have state legislatures at all.
Back in the day, when I was 22, I banged a 15 year old; it was perfectly legal as the Age of Consent in that state was 14. She was clearly experienced & interested in only a one-night stand.I didn't feel particularly pervy, but back then, teens weren't placed on the sacrosanct pedastal they are today; they were treated like young adults. Today, here in Florida, a 16 year-old may operate a motor vehicle on the highways, alone, but there is an irrebuttable presumption he or she cannot accede to intercourse. We have no problem charging 14 year-olds with crimes, stating implicitly that they have the intellectual ability to form the mens rea necessary. Seems inconsistent as hell to me. But, times & more's change.I believe the Norma Kuzma affair was a catalyst for this change, & wrote a letter saying so to my newsletter a year or so ago. I think it is unfortunate that the U.S. policy has had so much influence worldwide because of of this, one young woman's bad, self-serving choices.....

I hope I am not boring everyone to death, but since this post, I remembered an occurrence from a couple years ago. I was propositioned by a 23 year old, a slender, slight thing (young enough to be my daughter), & one of the thoughts that flashed thru my mind was, 'I bet she looks all of 14 naked.' I laughed nervously, & she said, 'Oh, I guess I'm too tired today anyway.' So nothing came of it. Later I found out from an ex-employee, who knew nothing about this little episode, that she was very kinky.
