I posted the same question a few weeks ago.

Since then I've found http://vixy.net.

This seems to work for me.

You cut and paste the youtube address into this web site, set file type to AVI.

The site then converts the video into an AVI file.

Only problem I've found is that sometimes it doesn't work first time, but if I keep trying it usually works second or third time.
