Why are modern American porn stars so ugly?

I've asked this before in relation to the Spitswappers site (some right dogs on there), but it seems it isn't just confined to that site.
Downloaded a number of lesbian movies yesterday from the Clips 4 Sale site. Didn't know they were American until I played them. They looked ok on the pics but when I played the movies all the women were relatively plain and all, without one exception, had bloody tattoos in all kinds of places. Are tattoos absolutely compulsory in American porn these days?
The action, such as it was, was poor and so obviously faked too.

I remember in the 80's and 90's some real stunners. Where have they all gone?
As I've said before compared to the fresh, young and relatively tattoo and piercing less EE girls on sites like Sapphic Erotica or Young Russian Goddesses, the Americans seem tired old slappers who are no better looking than some UK parlour girls. And with their tattoos and piercings that's what they remind me of!

There are some very nice ones, there is just so much surgery, Many of them look very similar and take on a doll-like/photoshopped appearance. I agree with spanky though there are some scary sights on clips4sale though lol.

Ho hum... looks like the british porn industry will be churning out the same stuff for forever and a day with everyone firmly stuck in the past as they seem to be. No offence meant but just because you dont like something doesnt mean it shouldnt happen. Also, as to the reference you made comparing all tattooed/pierced girls to 'parlour girls' I would suggest that you take a look at exactly how many of your conventional glamour girls are escorting on the side (which invalidates any certs they have as i'm sure you know). Perhaps you have your facts mixed up on who's doing the whoring?
