Flood centre set up for weekend

Post by adultwebmaster »

A national flood support centre has been set up to respond to further outbreaks of severe weather.

If this is the precursor of Global Warming, what the fuck does the future really hold for our children and grandchildren. :(

I don't see it as a precursor to global warming, it's more a result of greedy local authorities not wanting to spend money dredging rivers, drains & dykes as you cant see them nor increase the budget spent year in year out, and also the same greedy bastards ignoring the environment agencies advice not to build on flood plains or at least build houses on these areas that are raised above standard height.

They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?

There have been more freak weather patterns all over the world recently.

Earlier this week, a top temperature of 58 fahrenheit. Is that normal for the end of June?

.....having said that, it was Wimbledon week :)

Hull has been awash.... but doh! all the open drains haven't been cleared for years and are not doing the job they were designed for, neither has the River Hull been dredged for some time (years ago it was done regularly) and a staggering 96% of new houses constructed in the city in the last 25 years have been built on flood plains (the national figure is 9%). This isn't a 'natural disaster' it's criminal negligence on the part of local authorities and water companies! When moving onto hallowed new private housing estates, folk do not expect them to be ruined after a few hours of heavy rain. Major roads in what are more or less flat areas shouldn't take 4 days to drain! This is what happens when you ignore the laws of nature

They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?

I can't tell if you're saying that in jest or if you're really a sad little anorak with no family or kids of his own.

Besides, it's up to you to get off your own arse and pay for your pension.

After all, you don't want to be a non-productive member of our world?
