What a lot of the so-called experts are in a quandry on why some muslims are hell-bent on mass murdering lots of people is because they are missing the most obvious point on why this phenomenon is happening, even amongst well-educated muslims like doctors and engineers; is the sex angle.
One of the tossers that tried to blow up the Ministry of Sound nightclub was heard on tape going on about the "All those slags" etc.
The latest to be arrested included a neurosurgeon who wanted all women around him to be covered up and even wear gloves! This raised eyebrows amongst his working collegues but no action was ever taken.
If Islam is a language of peace why is it so schizophrenic when it comes dealing with people of other idea's or beliefs? Hardly tolerant is it when if, say, you are a muslim who God forbid, you want to convert to another faith..
What's Islam's answer for that? Death.
One of the main problems for Muslims is that they see their countries that they came from up shit-creek economically speaking (The state of Israel has a higher gross figure per person in economic terms than all the middle eastern countries put together) So they are blaming everybody and everthing else rather than the most obvious: Their own religion, and for Muslim men in this country it must be particularly galling to see all these women over here in well-paid work, leading independant lives!!Well that's just not on.

I agree with you that Prison isn't much of a deterrent as I've had a stay in one of them myself and apart from the first couple of days when it's a culture shock then it aint that bad.
Sure you have to watch your back and all that but as long as you don't give anybody any reason to twat you (and if you use you brain then there's no reason why you should) then there's not much to it. It's the boredom that is the main problem. Most of the other inmates will tell you the same and I heard "is this really punishment" quote from many whilst inside.
Early releases, electronic tagging, prolific offenders orders makes them laugh at the system some more.
I found all the problems that I had to deal with on release were more of a punishment. Too many to mention them all but things like applying for work with a criminal record seems like a life sentence. Other small things like I'm limited as to where I can take my family on holiday due to visa problems but I accept all that is my fault.
But to get back on topic I do agree with you that Prison isn't much of a deterrent anymore unless you get a long sentence.
