OK, the bank HAS to hold its hands up and take responsibility, but you can't blame the lady who 'discovered' the money in her account and blew the fucking lot in weeks with Plasma TVs etc, a ?10 grand holiday to Florida and 'giving away' the best part of ?100k to friends and family.
I think if she'd just took the holiday and a few bob for a rainy day, something could be done that suited both parties and saved the banks embarrasement.
If it was me, I'd hoard the fucking lot, thats a 6 month stretch I'd happily do for that amount of cash...especially as it was Abbey who fucked me over in the 80s with a worthless endownment mortgage......the slags!
What would you do? Give it all back or visit Brazils finest prostitutes and the delights of Bolivias finest cocaine for a 6 week 'bender'?

I'd transfer the lot to another bank. Then send them a letter telling them of their mistake and that you're quite happy to give it them back. I'd obviously charge them ?135,000 for the letter, and inconvenience.
