Coincidently, I read the essay on Wodehouse today.
Due to my ignorance of fiction since school, I know next to nothing on Wodehouse, though the essay was still interesting.
So what's it to be then?

Yes, was thinking of reading up on some fiction now the holidays are here. Not many modern authors seem interesting and these Orwell essays are giving me a few pointers.
About the essay:
I guess in the days of mass media, it's hard to appreciate how Wodehouse may have been oblivious to the war, and the consequences of his humour at the time.
I guess Germans never got 'sarcastic humour', and the British people weren't in much of a mood for it either at that time. He -possibly- wouldn't have known under the circumstances.
If it's nice & sunny tomorrow(ha!), I may have a walk around a few bookshops. In fact I'll get a bottle of Pinot Grigio and go start a book while sat in the garden. Yes!; that's what I'll do!
It'll definitely piss it down now......
