haven't seen it but your reaction doesn't surprise me

Given that the shows longevity is more down to the use of the high profile celeb voices IMHO more than the writing which while creative is very repetitive

I'm sure it has its moments, but I'm not sure I'll bother. I'm very disappointed they've stuck to the animation style of the show and not (as many expected) made the jump into Shrek-style 3D CGI animation. It would certainly have been a risk, and probably a lot more pricey, but imagine Springfield and its inhabitants brought to life that way. It would certainly offer a lot more cinematically, which after all is the medium they're in now.

Quite a bold generalisation!!! I bet you're one of those guys who goes around saying "The Americans don't understand irony" which is the biggest myth ever invented. Let me refer you to the following, to name but a few:

TV Shows:

Curb Your Enthusiasm
Seinfeld
South Park
Family Guy
Arrested Development
Entourage
King Of The Hill
Frasier

Movies:

This is Spinal Tap
Best In Show
The Jerk
The Opus of Woody Allen

Comedians:

Bill Hicks
Jerry Seinfeld
Richard Pryor
Steve Martin
Bill Cosby
Lenny Bruce
Rich Hall

I could go on and I've probably missed out loads but this was off the top of my head. Look into this little lot and tell me American Comedy sucks, if you still think this than I can declare you simply don't have a sense Of Humour I'm aware of.
