England is not shit but has like a lot of countries a lot of shit places.
The independent crime survey does show that crime is falling but peoples perception of crime is more important.
The place is as bad as you let it be but unfortunately many people won't do anything about it for a variety of reasons.
When people say enough is enough and do something about it things will improve.

Here's an example. How many lawyers believe that capital punishment should be re-introduced? The Marxist's would be against it and this view is held by the majority. The Communist/Marxist agenda is to let convicted murderers basically walk free. This is what happens here and now in the UK!

Sadly, this sensible post has been hijacked by those wishing to make cheap points about people they see as beneath them, or to make the usual racist comments.
As Warren says, the people telling us that there is more crime are those who have a vested interest in there being more: the media, political opportunists, security companies, phone companies, insurers etc.
If a survey said that 95% of people's clothes are infested with germs, you'd be very concerned. If you found out that Daz commissioned the research, you'd take it less seriously.
A little perspective, eh?

I agree. The reason I think WZR's point is valid is that they say the crime rate here in Chicago was down either this year or last year but listening to the news every night gives the perception that there's more crime out there. In actuality, crime is gonna happen and in some places more than others and in poorer communities.
