Leeds starting minus15 points

Post by Arginald Valleywater »

This has made my day. Will see if Ken Master Bates will be so keen to rescue them now.

Bates is an arse but Leeds don't deserve this.
It's about as fair and logical as sending the goalie off for a foul, THEN
awarding a pen and THEN allowing another go if the sub 'keeper parries it
out to the taker or another opponent- THREE sanctions for one offence !!
The Leeds punishment hurts the loyal supporters the most and the guilty
directors hardly at all.
I'd expect nothing less from the morons at the FA. I hope their testicles
[assuming they have any, although the available evidence is pretty slight]
get gangrene.

Eloquently put, JJ---and I can't disagree with any of what you say.

The FA could give Leeds 15 points (instead of deducting them) and they would still struggle to avoid relegation to the bottom division.

Yes, they had to sell most of their squad.
Any reasonable person [none of those at the FA, alas] could have
forecasted that they would struggle even to tread water.
Kicking a man when he's down is just the FA's usual way. They should be
inoculated with necrotising fasciitis and put in the BB House so we could
have the edifying spectacle of watching their limbs and organs being slowly
and agonisingly eaten away....now THAT would improve viewing figures,
especially if we could add the C4 board, having been infected with a few
chiggers, bot-flies and 6-foot tapeworms, and perhaps the odd spot of
gangrene.
Not that I wish them ill, you understand: but justice must be seen
to be done....

As a Wednesday fan, no one in Sheffield has any love for Leeds, but as you say, it's a little sad with them being a big club & all.

I blame Leeds though. If they'd have had the sense to move their ground to.....say.........East London, they'd have been hunky-dory! !wink!

Normally I would say this is unfortunate, like kicking a man that's already down.

But as it's Leeds, quite frankly it's fucking hilarious. God, I so hope they get relegated again. Leeds and their hooligan fans down in the old fourth division....ho ho ho.

I maybe being a little fussy here but I thought it was the Football League and not the Football Association that gave Leeds the 15 point sanction?

They are different organisations but in truth they are both run by plebs.

Whichever, they usually operate hand-in-glove, and as you [rather
charitably, IMO] say, they're plebs.

As I understand it, the deduction is for a new and separate offence. The league has rules and proceedures for clubs in administration to follow, and Ken Bates being Ken Bates has decided 'rules are for other people' and decided to do things his way.

They should actually count themselves lucky to still be in the league, it seems the rules have been bent to allow the 'big club' in.
We have need of you again, great king.
