Froglin Deleted?

Post by Froglin »

It appears that my "Conversations with Froglin" post
and all replies to it have been deleted.
I would like to know why this was needed and what
was apparently offensive about it.
Sorry if someone was upset by it. Please
explain and I won't post things that will
only be deleted again.

Thanks!

It was deleted because experience has shown that drivel, even harmless drivel such as banter about bread and custard, eventually tends to annoy other posters - one reply in this thread already indicated such annoyance. We have resolved to be stricter about it in the future and nip it in the bud. Do not get the impression that banter and similar lunacy is banned, but it can be overdone.

While I'm on this point, though it does not apply in this case, I should point out that what annoys other posters the most is when jokey posts hijack a thread begun seriously by someone not involved in the joke.

Too bleedin? true Alec does my head in so it does. I was just saying to Marcus the other day that some of the regular posters (2, or 3 in particular) are obviously very articulate and intelligent, but the monumentally annoying thing is that they hardly ever actually have anything to say! Every post seems to consist of a two-line, ambiguous, esoteric, or dismal attempt at an amusing reply to someone else?s post. What?s up guys? Nothing happening in your lives? No, life experiences to draw on? NO OPINIONS?

A quick trawl through the first two pages of this evenings (and last) forum has revealed about 95% of the posts are what I would call drivel. Indeed alec's post seems to be the most relevant and interesting of the evening so far! At this rate I?ll find myself drifting away from the forum and doing something a little more engaging and constructive ? like some work, God forbid!

Officers of the law are of course well known for their tolerance and sense of humour.

i think the humour in this place is vital. unlike the wannabe moderators who go around telling other people what they should and shouldn't post. i'm sure if there snooty attitude were really needed alec would give them a job.

I'm not averse to a little humor - I occasionally make an atempt myself - it's just that the so called humor you are probably refering to and the "rubarb and custard crap" alec was reffering to, is just not funny, and then it becomes annoying.
