LOL!
You mentioning Rob - and I realise that we're not supposed to discuss it here on the OTF - but have you seen the trailer for 'Trash Whores'?
The reason I ask is because I obtained the password from Rob only to discover that I can't play it because it's in Quicktime format(.MOV). My computer only plays .WMV files. I tried to download the free version of QT from download.com only to discover that it conflicts with WMV. Anyway I emailed Rob and he informed me that the WMV version will be available very soon.
Not all about porn there - some good technical points to!

Ah, the old losing the illusion aspect. I've suffered from that but for a different reason which I can't go into here.

Sorry to go all technical, but were they already installed on your laptop?
I only have WMV and I've read that if I attempt to install any other video playing format it will corrupt the WMV software.

99% of the time, ONLY WMV is installed as default on Windows based computer systems. Win 95 used to come as standard with a crappy version of Real player, but I haven't seen that pre-installed since Windows 95.

No, that is just bullshit Hype from Microsoft to discourage you from trying NON-Windows Software.
At this present time, I have all these Media Players installed (Music as well as Video):
Apple Quick Time
DivX Player (& CoDec's)
FLV Player
iTunes
Real Player
VideoLan (Set as my Default Movie/Video Player)
WinAmp (Set as my Default Music Player)
Windows Media Player (WMV)
Zoom Player

I use various players, dependant on what media format I'm trying to view/listen to. As default, VideoLan is my normal media player for Video, & WinAmp is the same for Music. Even though, most of these players will still cross-over on each others default file format support/file association.
Over the last few years, there have been many file format content that I've tried to watch, that is screwy, no matter what Player you use, VideoLan is about the best at resolving most of those issues, I would suggest getting some extra CoDec's installed though, if your having Media Player problems. I only ever use WMV if VideoLan can't play the file (thats very rare), & if VideoLan or WMV cant view it, Zoom is the final proggy I use to view, If it still won't play, either delete the Download, or throw away the DVD.

Re: jet audio basic?
Claims to be an almost one stop shop with the exception of MP3s
for which you can ad on software-see below link
Review here
I find most media players are shocking in one area or another
