I'm sure if people visited the butchers and green grocers more often there woiuld be less need for plastic packaging but I bet hardly anyone makes a home cooked meal these days for going to restaurants and tv dinners.

Come on. Hands up. Whose guilty here?

All the original independent greengrocers/butchers have been ousted by
Tesco Locals selling a ;imited range of overpriced stuff wrapped in 200
layers of clingfilm and a pound of styrofoam.
The new breed of independents are forced by rapacious council rents or
high production-costs to charge prices beyond the reach of a lot of families.
I'm lucky- I live near a large market but even so I'm glad I don't have to
feed a family anymore.

signification...."

Tax the plastic manufactures. There's far too much plastic coatings and wrappings, bottles, cups, etc, so tax those as well.

Were I am we have been sorting rubbish for years and the tax is higher.

We get nice little marks from the Government for recycling more but that's about it.

The bin men run round so they can finish early, while they are running round letter is dropped and the streets on rubbish collection days are a bigger mess than ever.

Slag the system and your branded lazy for not doing your bit "we cant landfill forever you know......."

My suggested solution is get the ferkin binmen to do the recycling instead of finishing early but telling someone what to do when you can get the taxpayer to do the job free of charge is "the silly option".
