Usual explanation is some troll in the house, resurrecting old threads and putting bullshit at the end of them. Mods spot them, delete fresh input, and the thread is stuck at the top for no apparent reason.

Look on the positive side at least the majority of 'ancient threads' had some interest.
These days most appear to be pointless one liners, people having a go at each other and requests for freebies.
