Everyone's an expert all of a sudden.
If she didn't answer questions it may well be that her lawyer advised her not to. If it is clear that the police are treating you as a suspect it is often better not to answer any of their questions. The right to silence is there for a reason. If the Portuguese police are building a case based on her being a harrassed mum who confides in her diary then I can't say I'm impressed.

The police are just trying to pressurise them because they have run out of idea's and have given up looking for a 4 year old girl.

True. Like if Mrs McCann had treat the young girl in a bad way for being naughty, or lost her temper with the girl, in the past, then certain questions and answers could highlight faults we all have, and exaggerate them to a false level, making Mrs McCann look like a monster that cracked.
Lawyers premeditate these types of questions and try and nip them in the bud asap by advising their clients to stay silent.
Silence doesn't mean guilt.

It's a hard position to imagine yourself in.......being accused of killing your own daughter. They've obviously put trust in their lawyer.
Remembering the Pakistani Coach fiasco, conducted by the Jamaican Police, I'm a little sceptical about the Portuguese investigation. Politically, the Portuguese would love to prosecute the British family rather than have a Portuguese Pedo convicted of killing a holiday maker's little girl.
I wonder how much money Brits put into local economies?
