Ive never heard of Black Knight,
wow it looks soo bad (as in crap) I might have to watch it,
But it does look like we can blaim Mark Twain for all this
"Yankee in King Arthur's Court" rubbish
But I bet Whoopi Goldberg in A Knight in Camelot takes the cake though?

Black Night is a shocker but if your into cheap laughs then by all means

Mel Brooks seems to utilise Black actors better than most in his intelligent satirical comedies

History of the World Part one
Gregory Hines as a Eunuch is one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen

Blazing Saddles......Sherrif Bart

Wholly Moses...Richard Pryor...say no more

Your most likely right about Twains influence

Three stooges knutzy Knights(1954)

Must have been all the rage around then

Can't say I've gone out of my way to see Miss Goldberg in Camelot
Sounds like a kids flick in her defence

Mel Brooks does utilise Black actors better than most,
but I cant help feeling Pryor would of been better as Sherrif Bart
which was the original plan.
Also Brooks treatment of another English Tale
Men in Tights
was one of his worst for me.
I have never seen the Three stooges knutzy Knights,
but it sounds like a classic

Also worth a look filmwise is Gawain and the Green Knight 1973,
more part of the Grail quest than a tale of Arthur,
not a great film but worth a watch as its strange and moody but too long and badly acted.
anyone for Terry Gilliam's the Fisher king?

Pryor opposite Wilder would have been interesting

I know what you mean about Men in Tights
Some rididculous sennd-ups work(Top Secret? )
while others fall flat

One film too many

I'd got the same view about his Dracula (Leslie Nielsen as Dracula was woeful,as bad as his Mr Magoo)

Would make a great triple dvd pack

For those with taste...blazing saddles, spaceballs & history of the world part one

Sad to say my ownly recollection of gawain & the green knight is in cartoon form.Given the films rights were sold eons ago for TV I suspect it will be on some non-descript pay/cable tv channel never to be seen again

I've not seen Fisher King but the under pinning true story is shocking

Is that the version with Murray Head?

Remember reading the story at school. A haunting story.

Just be thankful if you have no recollection of Sword of Valiant(1984)
Really shows where films & TV were heading...big names...bad acting
for the dumbed down audiences

Often the case with this genre, sadly.
