This is a law passed by the EEC but dosnt need to be implemented for about another year yet but Spain has gone for it straight away and the airlines are asking you to supply your details before hand to avoid delay at the airport until they get new scanners that can read your passport the same as immigration do otherwise the girls at check in will have to type it in by hand which will take time !cool!

In Europe one can travel freely if you are a European citizen except that is to the UK where unsmiling armed police with machine guns at the ready: passports; questions; customs and so on. It is like entering an open prison. EU citizens are tired of this and Brussels is doing the same to the British.
