Agreed. That was utterly shameful, and I don't care what excuse the coach gave. The players certainly wanted to face the All Blacks.

And what was that shite about with the strips? Either let the All Blacks play in their traditional colours (shade), or make sure your strip looks different to their away kit. Sorry, but this was a massive own try by Scotland.

Seems all the 6 nations teams that should be around the mark are playing just to qualify

I agree the NZ strip was silly...all black means all black

The execs will say its all about the colour blind TV audience who can't tell the difference between black & blue

I seem to recall in the days of black & white TV the simple solution was black & white shorts.

I suuspect some boffins at the top are trying to emulate soccer and its kit sales.Makes you wonder whether the strip is/or will be available for the public to buy?

I can't see anyone in their right mind wanting to buy either strip.

Saw the CEO(NZ) of Adidas talking about the alternative strip on tv news. Apparently its not available for sale.
I agree about the cock-up. The NZ commentators got the players confused too....I mean they got confused about the players....lol

Yes I was the same I thought Scotland were having a blinder until I noticed they were erm "All Blacks". But what an embarassment for Scottish Rugby sending your second string to be lambs to the slaughter against an almost full strength NZ mob, I actually hope Italy cement us now after that. Certainly not what the World Cup should be about, did we actually get out our own half?? You should be fielding your second string against the weaker teams surely - if at all??
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

Hadden: Beating the All Blacks is simple
Not rocket science: Frank Hadden says he has a plan for the All BlacksEDINBURGH, 22 September - Scotland has not beaten New Zealand in 25 attempts but coach Frank Hadden reckons dismantling the All Blacks machine is hardly rocket science.

Hadden has named a second-string team to face the tournament favourites but the Scotland coach insists his players will back themselves for an upset win in Sunday's Pool C match in Edinburgh.

"It's pretty simple beating the All Blacks, in my opinion," Hadden told reporters.

"If we do what we have been practising better than they do what they have been practising, we will win the game."

Hadden has rested his top-shelf players with an eye towards keeping them fresh for the key match against Italy on 29 September in St Etienne.

"The Scotland team that plays on Sunday will undoubtedly do their country proud," Hadden said in defence of his controversial decision.

"It'll be a fantastic match. I have told the guys already that I trust them and I believe in them."

Scotland's star fly half Dan Parks and flanker Allister Hogg, who scored three tries in the 42-0 win over Romania on Tuesday, have been named on the bench.

Scott Murray will captain his country for the first time in three years in the absence of rested flanker Jason White, while prop Alasdair Dickinson and flanker John Barclay will debut for Scotland.

Had either NZ or Scotland played in their traditional kit these would have been easier to distinguish than this orgy of different patterns of blueish-grey.
