In fact it's hard to find one that ONLY lets you send & receive texts and make / receive the occasional call - which is basically all that (and countless others, I'd wager) I need a mobile for.

Seems like mobile manufacturers these days are pandering mainly to the teen market, as that's the demographic that demands all this shit so that they can appear "cool" to their peers.
