"Imagine an economy with 'stop-go' or 'boom-bust' cycles engineered to win elections; where the rich get richer at the poor's expense"

What you mean like Ed Balls, Yvette Cooper, moody mortgage Mandelson, Lord Cashpoint (Levy) and all the rest? Yeah, I agree it would be a travesty to see them increase their wealth and privilege further. Particularly when the afor mentioned fuckers have the gall to talk a load of progressive bollocks. Their arrogance and hypocrisy is breath taking. The only progressive thing about this mob is that they are progressively getting richer, more powerful and dictatorial at the expense of Joe Ordinary, whose tax pound they are fleecing.

Here read this -

Liz, were you aware that Brown's mob (the cabinet) have never done an honest day's work in their life? I read somewhere that none of them have ever worked in commerce or business - the very same commerce and business that ultimately pays for everything in this country, including their mega wages and the gold-plated pensions which they have awarded themselves. So, if they?ve never earned any real money in their lives, what qualifications do they have in dictating how the taxpayer's dough it's spent (or frittered away, as the case may be)? Does anyone think they would be so keen to fritter away the taxpayer's money on scumbags, wasters, Africa, etc if they had been obliged to make some of it themselves?

Yes, imagine.
For 'Boom and Bust' read 'ebb and flow'
NOTHING grows constantly, that is nature. There will be times of prosperity and times of decline.... do you really think things are going to grow and grow and grow infinitely? Why do think it is so easy to get credit and that there is no true concern about how it will be paid back??

They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?

Join the club.

You sound Scots- the Scots will be virtually immune from a Tory regime..only defence, foreign affairs, overseas trade and areas such as murder, treason, titles, the Crown etc. are still controlled by Whitehall. And if you think Salmond dislikes Brown, he hates Cameron.

Oh- and Scotland has the oil, gas, gas storage and nuclear defence pods. So if a Tory regime cuts off the subsidy, they can charge what they like for the use of these...probably make more than under the current subsidy situation.

Lucky Scots.

There isn't one! He's playing it week by week until the polls improve, and with a bit of luck somewhere along the line.

"Inflation is falling rapidly"

It is? Where do you shop?

Just off the top of my head, in the last few weeks a 2 pint bottle of semi-skimmed milk has gone from 66p to 76p, a 400g loaf of Warburton's bread from 67p to 82p, 500g of butter from 98p to ?1.12, a small jar of Hellmann's mayo from 81p to 90p, a pack of cooked ham from ?1.58 to ?1.80 and a pack of garlic bread from 85p to 99p, and that's all from Tesco, not Fortum & Mason.

For the first time in ages, I am really starting to see prices of basic foodstuffs going up sharply. I enjoyed "Life on Mars", but this is taking the 70's revival too far!
