A Question

Here's something I'd value people's opinion on.

I'm a fairly easy going person that likes to help out others when I can. As you'd imagine I work with lots of models and studs and, if they're nice, I regulary put in a good word for them with others which results in offers of work. Indeed, I've even given a couple of models a start in the porn industry and they've gone on to bigger and better things. Why then doesn't it work both ways? I know I've been in the business for a while and am no longer a new face but only a couple have ever returned the favour and seem to forget what I've done for them.

I suppose this is like 'real' life but I am puzzled as to why it happens. Maybe I should just 'look after number 1' from now on?

Perhaps its because most people in the industry are greedy and selfish.

So you are looking for sympathy (and an answer to your question)? Maybe the people you helped will help others and get the same response you got from the people they helped.

Is it just the voracious turnover in new stock items? Something newer and fresher is ready to be exploited, marketed and sold?

Dont feel ashamed in that you have helped others and they have not done likewise.

take comfort from the fact that you have (and continue to) act in a manner that they are not capable off like an enlightened human being displaying the qualities that we should all aspire, at the end of the day they will remembered (or more likely not) as either nothing more than a collection of genitals or as self seeking scumbags.

Doing the right thing is not unfortunetley the easeist and the bad news is most people will take the easy option.

Hi Wendy,

Probably none of my business but I've always gone with the philosophy of always being true to yourself and treat others how you want to be treated then you can have a clear conscience.

Don't bring yourself down to their level and adopt an attitude that clearly doesn't suit you........don't adopt the lokking after no. 1 selfish attitude.

If you did adopt this falseness you wouldn't be as cheerful as you always are and the industry would certainly suffer agreat deal.

Let those who haven't returned any favours live with this.......after all, on their fall from grace friends and helpers will be few and far between.

Sorry if this is a bit too profound, but I've had similar thoughts in my own life, and a good friend once advised me the same and it worked..........XX Dan
