Your friend bought a SCOTSMAN?
WHY?

Sorry to disappoint, but ...ive been a loyal PC user for 14 yrs and i bought a ?1300 mac recently and to be honest it's amazing.

I had to buy it because thats what the design industry operates on and needed to learn it in good time but from what I can see - for working they shit all over PC's. Every PC I've ever been near starts having a fit if you have more than 3 programs installed on it.

Mac can process anything though :D

Disagree totally. I had an iBook notebook computer a few years back and it was crap. It kept locking up, destroying data and couldn't read the same file twice. Their after sales service was rude and dismissive.

I actually finished up losing my temper with it and smashing it up! Bit of a waste of money yes, but it taught me never to believe all the hype before buying something.

yeah we had one of those little ones and we ended up taking it back. It kept dumping files in odd places and when you were viewing pictures, it automatically saved them to the hard drive, so you had to delete all the pics to stop the hard drive from being overloaded. Rubbish and yes their after sales service was really ppalling

Apart from this story, I've never had a problem with Apple. I've always used mac, never had a windoze box, and have never had a reliability problem.

I did buy a laptop from them, which had a persistant problem with the DVD drive. It had to be replaced 4 times, however, (maybe because I went to the Apple Store), twice they did it overnight, once within 4 hours, and once within 90 mins.

When the couldn't fix the fault they gave me a new, higher spec machine, without question.
We have need of you again, great king.

Macs are far superior to PC's not because they have sparkly keyboards and look very futuristic, but because the MAC OS shites all over Windows shoes in terms of reliability, ease of use and above all else speed.
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

Pfft......you spend more, can do less, and will be working off the network of linux or windowsin every company you work for, which are making jobs and money for most of the world. The real rich people, the people who do the rendering, the creative work, the networking, the servers, the databases, and business do not use Mac.
