Algarve - bootleg DVDs of the surviving series of "Freewheelers" surface on eBay from time to time, "borrowed" from no less a source than the old Southern TV archives, apparently. The quality is said to be fairly decent.

I've always thought it could make interesting nostalgia viewing. I seem to recall one of the characters driving one of those three-wheel Bond Bugs, which were considered to be quite cool at the time.

ERIC - you seem to be around 'my' era - do you remember a series about some kids in a house who had some large rocks or stones outside that seemed to get closer and closer to them at night? sounds daft i know, but i used to absolutely shit myself!

Do you know who recorded the theme?
I'd love to D/L it.

There's a full version of the theme tune on youtube, and it gives the writer credits at the start. Sorry---wasn't able to link it.

Bless you, sirrah !!
Very 'funky-clunky', if you see what I mean, but a precious memory nevertheless.
I notice that there were TWO credits for it in the subtitles, and I couldn't
download it directly.
I someone can provide an mp3 via email I would eternally grateful........

The lyrics were by the creator of the series. I'd be surprised if it doesn't exist somewhere out there on the interweb :-)

Sure I caught sight of the very lovely Ms Vivien Heilbron in one of the clips.

Could well be (I'm 1963 vintage).

You've got me there, algarve.

There was a series around the mid '70s (must've been 1976-ish) called "Children of the Stones" that I recall as being quite dark and sinister for kids' TV.

My memories of it are quite hazy, but I seem to remember it being set in some mysterious village near a stone circle, and I think there was some sort of temporal anomaly aspect to the whole thing as well. And I think there was some sort of druid involvement also.

I don't specifically remember the stones moving around though, so I'm not sure if that's the show you mean.
