Ming has resigned!!

Post by Trumpton »

Sir Menzies Campbell has resigned as Lib Dem leader this evening.

The Lib Dems are at only 11% in the opinion polls, and many blame him for them being at that low level.

Good old fashioned politician - but in these days of "image" and "personality" he was sadly out of his depth.

It's been very likely for at least a week. Given the lack of support he showed Charles Kennedy in his last few days, some might say he has sown what he reaped.

Goggs managed to draw some blood with his election strategy, then, even if the real target (Cameron and the Tories) escaped and managed to prosper for some unknown reason.

I always liked Charles Kennedy. Seems intelligent and has a sense of humour.

What did he do prior to becoming a professional politician?

My question was rhetorical.

On a similar note I was reading an article about Lionel Messi which suggested that the one thing which may hinder him in terms of his being considered the world's pre-eminent football talent is his lack of personality ! This was on Soccernet so it wasn't an ill-informed opinion. Wtf ... i'm more interested in his sublime abilities than in what he had for breakfast or his political opinions. Why want and expect people to be much more than they need to be ?

Btw .. did we ever get the night of the long knives 'Ming the merciless' headline ? Could he not have reinvented himself as P Diddy and we could have had a 'Ming the bling' headline .. as it is if the Sun can be arsed I suppose it's going to be 'Minging' !
