Why are people so nasty towards me?

I mean, earlier I was debating the existence of God with someone -who it turned out- had written a book based around the refutations of atheistic claims.

Being a nice lad, I pointed out that making a profit out of Gods word may not be very Christian, and told him that Jesus tells you to cast away your possessions, abandon your family and friends, and follow the straight and narrow. I told him that Jesus wouldn't write books to make money, and he was a bad Christian.......Well, he got all mad and started calling me names !shocked!

I was only showing him the right path. You'd have thought he'd have been gratefull since Christians have been trying to show everyone else the right path for years now.

To top it off, on these very forums, there's a guy that seems very insecure. So insecure that he never expresses his own opinion in case he is mocked. Well, again, good lad that I am, I try and encourage him to shed his fears, and socialise with us all properly. I even send him a youtube link to a nice song, as a gift. What does he do in return? He calls me a prick!

I just wondered if I was maybe putting myself across in the wrong manner?

Your post earlier this evening on "Genes" was perhaps the most interesting thing I have ever read on here. And by a strange coincedence I was going to post a reply saying as much.

Im not saying I always agree with you,because I dont. But the manner in which you put your point of view over is (at times) breath taking in its own way.

You are clearly a man of conviction based upon education or at least a clear understanding of the subjecs you have an opioion (?) about!!
