Strange but true. The people (some) who don't have nothing saw it as an opportunity (key word there) to get what they couldn't buy normally. I don't think it was a lot of people who did it (Hurrican Katrina) where as in the L.A. Riots a whole lot of it was happening. You know in the riot of the 1960's they burned businesses down but black business owners were spared (some) and mostly those who wrote on their windows "Black Owned". The thing you got to realize though is that when people rioted it was out of frustration and unfortunatly they burned their own neighborhoods down and yeah innocent whites who were in sight got beat down, ain't sayin' it's right and it's a shame but that's what happens when you keep people down for too long. There are black people who percieve ALL whites not to be trusted and Pres. Bush most certainly proves that in his case and the government?.........

Re Alice. I don't think he was saying Rodney King deserves a beating, but that RK wasn't worth half a city looting, killing and setting fire to shit! lol

I know. The thing you have to understand though is Rodney though not a hero, but most certainly was an example of what happens on a daily basis in past AND present black society and that alone what was the reason why black people rioted. Would you believe we're still fighting police brutality to this very day? Google the John Burge (or Berge) case here in Chicago.

Yeah, I get your point but how do you know no white people have ever been beat in the same way, and would it even make the headlines?

Here in the UK, drunks get beat all the time. I know people who have if they've been a bit lippy with the police. Have you seen the scenes Man Utd fans were under in Italy? Some got just as much of a beating -inc Women- that Rodney King. There were complaints, but no mass rioting, fires and murder.
