One law for them another for us. A judge accused of child abuse and of masturbating over child porn sites and court transcripts of child abuse cases has been let off by the police. A video taken by his wife of him masturbating while perusing the transcripts of a child abuse case he presided over was given to the police.
Can anyone name the judge?
Mike Freeman.

Re: One Law for them .....
This is the first I've heard of this case.
Was there any actual hard **evidence** of him visiting child porn sites though, Mike? Or of him abusing children?
Because if there was, I doubt he'd have got off so easily, judge or not.
You say his Mrs videoed him wanking over transcripts, but as far as I'm aware there's no law (at least not yet anyway) against wanking over the written word - however distasteful that may be in this case.
If it is as you say and evidence was indeed swept under the carpet, then it's a disgrace and you have a point. But in the absence of any hard evidence or any crime (as I said, as far as I know NuLabour haven't yet got round to outlawing wanking over court transcripts) then what are they supposed to do him for?

Eric,
It is the fact that he is corrupt and the police are corrupt in this case that is the point. Visiting child abuse sites is a crime in he UK. His computer was not even examined.
No doubt you will read about it in the media.

I haven't seen anything about any of this in the media yet, Mike.
Where did **you** hear about it?
I'm aware that visiting such sites is illegal, but what you're saying all seems very vague to me. And was his computer really not examined? And if not, how do you know this?
Do you have some sort of insider knowledge that the rest of us lack? (I'm not trying to be funny - it's a genuine question).
You seem convinced that this judge (whoever he is) is corrupt - ditto the Old Bill.
But without anything except your above statements to go on, it's hard really to come up with an informed opinion on the matter. So I'm going to reserve judgement on it for now.

"The Page Could Not Be Loaded"
Re: One Law for them .....
.. should take you there. At the moment they're just allegations but it does seem strange that they haven't been investigated and someone has effectively decided that they're unfounded on the basis of intuition.
I thought investigative procedures were more thorough than that.
Re: One Law for them .....
Mike - I read the article (Dutchman - this should load the page:)
It looks like the IPCC are looking into it again, and rightly so. However, it also appears that much of it is based simply on claims and allegations by his ex-wife - which as you know are a long way from being the same thing as proof and evidence.
Could it be she had an axe to grind?
Speaking personally on the basis of my own first-hand knowledge of what ex-wives are capable of (plus second-hand accounts from mates who've also had ex-wives to deal with), that's more than a vague possibility. "A woman scorned" and all that.
I don't claim to be conversant with the law regarding such matters, so I'm happy to stand corrected. But as far as I'm aware, Plod can't just kick doors in and seize someone's computer just on the say-so of someone else. Not without good reason and evidence to warrant such action (credit card records for site subscriptions and the like).
I'll admit though that given the working relationship between the Chief Constable and the accused judge (most likely involving funny handshakes and rolled-up trouser legs) it does have a fishy smell to it, so let's hope the IPCC can get to the bottom of it.
What really does stink to high heaven though is the unrelated case mentioned at the bottom of that page, about a judge under investigation for sexual blackmail being suspended - but suspended on full pay and trousering some nice pay rises as well.
That kind of shit really does send out the wrong signals about the trustworthiness of the judiciary and the establishment in general (if that was someone like you or I or anyone else on this forum, we'd probably be sitting in the local nick on remand right now, waiting for our case to come up).

Re: One Law for them .....
Eric,
The police were given a video of the judge masturbating over transcipts involving child abuse taken from cases over which he had presided. The only reason his computer was not taken for inspection was because he was a judge with friends and contacts in the police. Anyone else would have been nicked. He won't get nicked now because unless he is an idiot he will have reformatted his hard disc.

i can't believe that the old bill - corrupt as they are - would let some pervert judge off if there was hard evidence to convict the cunt - hell, the police are as sickened by paedophiles as the rest of us....
