Anyone recently applied for a job.
Re: Anyone recently applied for a job.
I'm not sure companies are even allowed to ask for DoB's any more. Age discrimination and all that.

They still do.
I have in fact just emailed the age discrimination board outlining the problem as I see it.
The email came back 'undelivered' What a surprise.

In the past when I've applied for vacancies the recruiter (usually an agency) will pick up and comment on any gaps in employment on your CV. They will want to know what you were doing during these gaps. If you cannot provide them with accountable reasons they will discard your application.

Keith.
I think you'll find as you get older, the only suitable vacancies available will be via recruitment agencies - who are, strangely, staffed by youngsters in their late teens and early 20s!

I only want a part-time job as I am doing an MA at the moment and hoping to follow this up with a Phd. But even applying for a part time job demands your entire life story.
