After all this football fiasco, I was just wondering whether people considered themselves British, but taking the football arguement out of it, are you Scottisht, Welsh, English, Irish or British.
I always say I'm English. No racial stuff in my head so don't let this thread get hijacked by that point. i was just wondering what others consider themselves as?

Re: What nationality are you?
While in England, I'm a Yorkshireman. Regional accents and cultures have been watered down greatly during the 20th century, but still, I'm more comfortable amongst northerners.
When in Europe, I'm English. The nationalities in Europe I feel I have most in common with is the Scots, Danes & Swedes. All pretty reserved, but a good sense of humour when drunk.
When I'm in the US I feel British (mainly because the Yanks can't tell the difference between northern accents, Scottish accents and Australian accents). When I've been in Vegas, I've always had a better night out with Aussies, Scots, Irish, Swedes and Danes, than with continental Europeans, and Americans. I once had a mental drinking session with 3 Russian guys - now they can drink!
So it varies on what I consider myself to be, depending on where I am, and who I'm with. I bet it's the same for a lot of people.

Was that a self-proclamation, or an accusation?

You speak pretty much for this Yorkshireman as well.
