Mothership
Anybody else bought the Zep-best-of double and DVD? A lot of the recordings have been cleaned up and now sound so crisp and clear its like listening to new versions of the old tracks. I did go off Zep when I got into R&B and the Blues in the mid 70s and realised where they'd blatently ripped off most of their stuff from, but they've since made reparation for that. Nothing cheers me up more now than Trampled Under Foot or Kashmir played at 11 on the dial. The DVD took me back to when I saw them in Bradford back in 1972. If you are a Zep fan and haven't got it yet, I can heartily recommend it.

'I saw them in Bradford back in 1972'
I hate you.
I never had the chance to see them.

Re: Mothership
I thought the new mixes were poor compared to the double CD that came out a decade or so ago, however, it is a worthy inclusion in any collection and a bargain ?8.97 at ASDA

Re: Mothership
I just found his last 'Best Of 'CD with the definative mixes from Jimmy were far batter than the Mothership mixes.
Stop being snide with your replies Wazza, just because not everyone agrees with your particular views.

Ooops, you missed the target yet again Wazza, the original 'Best Of' CD set 'Remasters' was also produced and remixed by Jimmy, and at the time, was heralded as the definative mixes and production of the classic songs.
However, with Zep at the forefront again, Mothership is an essential re-release of 'Greatest Hits' and no doubt Pagey fiddled with the controls yet again and has obviously said along the lines 'THESE was now the definative mixes'
Chances are in 10 years with the advancement of mixing and restoration of original demos etc, Pagey might just remix them all again and cite it as THE definative mix.......again
