Who's ever said we're definately going to win from the England camp? I've heard them say we can win things, but not that we are. Remember that Greece are the European Champs, so to just say we're capable isn't a delusion.

Yes, there's some truth in this, especially in the media, and it's made more obvious when we do actually conquer.
A comfortable three or four nil win over Spanish Park Keepers XL in a home friendly and for some it's '66 all over again.

And I bet Umbro bosses are cacking themselves. Sales of England shirts will die a slow lingering death. Sportsworld, outfitters to the chav tribe will have thousands of them for a fiver by next week!
Same for travel agents, breweries, TV advertising and pizza shops all over Britain.
The only positive thing is we won't have to go out to Germany on penalties.
Some of the real stars, a la Rooney and Gerrard will suffer as their sponsorship deals are heavily loaded to playing for England.
I feel Keane got it right when he said egos and club committment are placed above International Duty.
Players get maybe ?15000 for an international, or about one days pay for Rooney and less for Chelski boys. Sad but true.
If the national FAs get their act together we can re-instate the Home Internationals next year.
