Dummies. If they had any sense they would have made it into a tourist attraction. I know it's a piece of concrete brutalism, but it has a bit of glamour to it.

One of my favourite lines in the film is when Carter has just thrown "Alf" from the top deck, landing on a car below. One of the architects turns to the other and says "I think we might have a problem with our fees on this one."

One of the best films ever, I was so surprised that Sly Stallone was unable to improve upon it!

A longtime favourite film of mine, with great music by the very underated Roy Budd. There was a compilation CD of Budd's music for Get Carter and other, it has to be said, lesser films he scored, called Vigilante. Well worth finding.
As for GC, it is a very amoral film in that we are rooting for a sadistic killer, whatever his motives, and the film has a very of its time view of porn. Quite quaint really. Mona Lisa is another film where you wonder where the bloke has been all these years ( I know, in prison) to have such an uninformed view of the sleazier side.
