I have got it in my heard that she made a few porn films in the late 20s before she was discovered by Hal Roach and that after she became famous her studio bought and destroyed all known copies.

But im struggling to find any reference of it any where. Am I thinking of the right "starlet"?

One of Hedy Lamarr's European films in which she was indeed naked was called 'Ekstase' (Ecstasy) 1933, made in Germany. Its tagline was 'The Stark Naked Truth Of A Woman's Desire For Love', though it was a very tasteful dipiction.
It was always said that Tallulah Bankhead once serviced an entire American football team visiting the studio she was shooting a picture in at the time.

Kenneth Angers Hollywood Babylon Book has a nude still which is meant to be Jean Harlow. He doesn't claim she made any stags though.

Joan Crawford is rumored to have made a stag film which MGM spent a great deal of time and money suppressing. Some nude stills of JC were published in Mayfair amongst other places in the 80's.

Hedy Lamarr had a nude scene in a feature film called Extacy. Nudity wasn't unknown in european films of the early 30's but she caused enough of a stir to come to the attention of Hollywood. She will however probably be remembered most for inventing a piece of technology that led to the mobile phone!

Thankyou for your help on this. It seem almost certain that it was Joan Crawford I was thinking of. If Hollywood Babylon (all ways a pleasure Muswell) does not say that Miss Harlow made any Stag films then she almost certainly didn't.

I had forgotten that Hedy Lamarr had invented the Frequency-hopped spread spectrum thingy. And am slighly ashamed that even though this woman helped the advancment of mobile phone and wi-fi technology no end,I was more interested to learn that she had "got 'em out" on film.

As for Tallulah Bankhead wasn't she involved with some kind of scandal with school boys as well?
